The IDP Destination Newcastle Scholarship 2026 has been established to provide a high-performing female student in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with an opportunity to study at the University of Newcastle.

The Scholarship will be awarded to an applicant who receive an offer to study in an eligible program and commence study with the University in Semester 1, 2026 and beyond.

Eligible Programs

Undergraduate

  • Bachelor of Computer Science (including combined programs)

  • Bachelor of Data Science (including combined programs)

  • Bachelor of Design (Architecture)

  • Bachelor of Engineering (all streams)

  • Bachelor of Information Technology (including combined programs)

Postgraduate

  • Master of Architecture

  • Master of Construction Management (Professional)

  • Master of Cyber Security

  • Master of Data Science & AI

  • Master of Professional Engineering (all streams)

  • Master of Information Technology


Assessment Criteria

Assessment by the appointed judging panel (comprising representatives from IDP India, the University and external partners) will be based on a video submission (maximum 3 minutes in duration) by the applicant which directly addresses the questions below. Written submissions will not be considered.

  • Why do you believe you would be an outstanding ambassador for the University?


A maximum of one (1) scholarship will be awarded in 2026, with the successful recipient.
